About us

Public Computer Security Incident Response Team was established around the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications under the Decree No. 319 of August 30, 2023 of the Prime Minister of Mongolia and the Minister of Digital Development and Communications. The main purpose of the Public CSIRT/CC is to prevent, detect, stop, and respond to cyber attacks and incidents against the information systems and information networks of citizens, legal entities, and private sector organizations with critical information infrastructure.

It is to strengthen human resources, technical and technological capabilities, and database with the functions of professional and methodological assistance and support for system restoration.

Vision

Strengthen cybersecurity capabilities at the national level and take the lead in building a strong cybersecurity framework. 

Mission

In the cyber environment, the information security of citizens, legal entities, and private sector organizations with critical information infrastructure will be ensured. 

The center carries out the following activities within its functions. It includes: 

  • Providing recommendations for the security of information systems and information networks of citizens, legal entities, and private sector organizations with critical information infrastructure
  • Receive information about cyber attacks and violations from citizens and legal entities, investigate and resolve them;
  • Receive information security audit and cyber security risk assessment reports and submit recommendations and requirements; 
  • Create a database of cyber attacks and breaches and provide information to the Cyber Security Council; 
  • Organize training in the field of cyber security; 
  • Dissemination of information and publicity about cyber security to citizens and communities; 
  • Introduction of scientific achievements, advanced techniques and technologies, development of consulting services; Introducing new advanced techniques and technologies aimed at improving labor productivity.

The Cyber Security Council receives information about information security incidents, phishing attempts, malware and vulnerabilities.
