MDDC collaborates with JICA in the direction of Cybersecurity

                Minister of Digital Transformation and Communications N. Uchral and Tanaka Shinichi, Chief Representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mongolia Office, held discussions today on the collaboration between Mongolia and the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) related to Cybersecurity.

 

                During the meeting, the significant achievements of the 50-year diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Japan were highlighted, emphasizing the successful implementation of various initiatives and programs. Notably, lectures and presentations were conducted on the current state and future development of Cybersecurity in Japan.

 

                JICA has been actively collaborating with the Cybersecurity Technical Cooperation Team since January 2022, aiming to implement various programs related to Cybersecurity education, enhance the knowledge of public and private sectors, and contribute to capacity building in the field of Cybersecurity.

 

                 In accordance with the project's requirements, the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications has been designated to oversee the execution of the project within the specified timeframe. The project involves conducting seminars and training, engaging experts from Japan to provide support, and collaborating with other institutions to achieve its goals.

 

                Minister N. Uchral, in coordination with the project's director and deputy director of the National Data Center, has been tasked with ensuring the successful implementation of the project. Additionally, the project team will work closely with the Cabinet Secretariat, sharing expertise and insights to enhance Mongolia's Cybersecurity capabilities.

 

                The collaboration aims to strengthen diplomatic ties and Cybersecurity collaboration between Mongolia and Japan, fostering knowledge exchange and cooperation in addressing cyber threats. Furthermore, efforts are being made to facilitate the participation of Mongolian experts in JICA's Cybersecurity initiatives and to foster collaboration with international organizations in addressing cyber threats.

 

                The Chief Representative of JICA Mongolia Office, Tanaka Shinichi, expressed his commitment to supporting the project and collaborating on future initiatives. The collaboration is expected to contribute to the development of Mongolia's Cybersecurity capabilities and create opportunities for advanced training and education in the field.

The Cyber Security Council receives information about information security incidents, phishing attempts, malware and vulnerabilities.
